“Fabricator to the Stars: Jack Brogan to the Finish”
The dust has begun to settle on the glory of the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time. Southern California art is now canon. The pioneering artists have been named, recorded and celebrated. My upcoming art show is getting some great media attention, but I think the coolest is the Cut-Foot Hotline. It is very old school, in all the best ways. Imagine a telephone with a rotary dial. When calling (310) CUT-FOOT, you will get a daily recording of what is happening on the Eastside of Los Angeles, generally Downtown, Echo Park, Silverlake and East Hollywood. It lists mostly bands, local concerts and art openings. The performance is stellar. Artist Anthony Ausgang plays it to perfection as the fast-talking, smooth gliding announcer. His words make beautiful low brow poetry. The artist has been maintaining this hotline with dedication for many, many years. I can’t wait for Friday the 13th to catch the listing! We just got lucky twice. The art show BURN will feature a fine liquor and it is top of the line. It is with great pleasure to announce that Bombay Sapphire Gin will pour their ambrosia alongside their new Bombay Sapphire East Gin.
